Pilot Cup soccer coming up

Newport Heights Parents!

It’s time for the 13th Annual Pilot Cup! All 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls are invited and encouraged to play for our school in this super fun and festive community soccer tournament. The tournament includes public and private schools in the Newport Mesa community and runs Tuesday, May 29 though Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Teams are divided into 3/4 girls, 3/4 boys, 5/6 girls and 5/6 boys. All team players are guaranteed to play in each game. Practices are beginning next week.

If you haven’t already turned in your registration, it costs $10 to register which includes a team tee shirt. Registration is due to the office this Friday, April 27th. Please contact the office or Tom Robinson at tnrii@aol.com if you have any questions.

Description:

April 28, 2012 poker tournament benefiting the four elementary schools in our area. Winner of the tournament receives entry into the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event (only if 225 entries sold). Held at Boys & Girls Club on Saturday April 28, 2012, food and drink provided, doors open at 5:30pm, tournament starts at 7pm. Schools will split proceeds based on attendees per particular school, so when selecting your entry in the drop down menu below, pick your school.

General Admission tickets, which do not include entry to the tournament, are available for $50, and include food and drink.

Dr. Suhr promoted to Director of Elementary Education

It was with sadness and excitement that we will say good bye to Dr. Suhr and welcome Kathleen Jacquin as our new principal for the 2011/12 school year. A few of us from the Foundation and PTA had a chance to meet with Kathleen this morning. She is looking forward to her new position at our school, and to get to know the students, parents, teachers, and staff. Coming from a GATE/Magnet school in the Ocean View school district (Huntington Beach), she knows the value of technology in the classroom, and is familiar with both Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math programs. She plans on continuing to infuse technology in the classroom, and we at the Foundation are looking forward to working with her for the betterment of our childrens’ education.
